How we work

Exel Prod Distribution Inc. is a small retail business in Mississauga. We sell precision hand tools, hold stock, and support the people who use them. There is no second product line and no plan for one.

Everyone here handles stock and everyone talks to customers. If you never want to touch a pallet, this will not suit. If knowing one category well appeals more than knowing a hundred badly, it might.

What we look for

  • Tool knowledge, or a real appetite for it. You do not have to arrive knowing a JIS tip from a Phillips. You do have to want to.
  • Willingness to say you do not know. Confidently wrong advice about a specification costs the customer money and costs us the relationship.
  • Care about accuracy. A wrong figure in a specification table is not a typo.
  • Comfort with being corrected, and with correcting other people.

Please do not send a generic covering letter. Tell us about a tool you have opinions about instead. It tells us far more.

How we hire

  1. A twenty minute call, to work out whether either of us should spend more time on it.
  2. A longer conversation, in person where possible, including time in the warehouse.
  3. A practical exercise for the role. Anything over an hour, we pay for your time.
  4. A decision inside a week, with a reason either way.
