About the maker
Work Sharp traces to Darex LLC, an Oregon sharpening-equipment company founded in 1973 by the Bernard family; the Work Sharp brand itself was introduced in 2007. In 2020 the consumer sharpening business was spun off and renamed Work Sharp, now headquartered in Ashland, Oregon, while the industrial division was sold separately. Its main products are electric sharpeners that use flexible abrasive belts, including the Ken Onion Edition.
