Exel Prod is a specialist online store for precision hand tools from Japan and Europe. 12 departments, 58 tools listed, 35 brands. We stock these tools, use them, and know them. Nothing outside that.
Why we started
Good tools, hard to buy
Lend a technician a VESSEL driver for a JIS fastener and you will not get it back. Same with a pair of Cobras on a seized fitting. People remember whatever finally worked, and they ask for it by name afterwards.
Then they cannot get one. Anex, Hozan, Fujiya, Keiba, Merry, Godhand, Iwasaki, Suehiro: about twenty of the makers we carry are hard to find in North America. These are family firms of thirty or forty people, busy enough at home. So buyers end up on overseas marketplaces, one tool at a time, paying whatever the exchange rate says that week, with no warranty and no reliable way to spot a counterfeit.
The problem was never price. It was finding them. We keep these tools in stock, put the real specifications on every page, and answer the phone when you call.

How we work
Four things we hold to

The numbers go on the page
Tip profile, steel grade, hardness, capacity, tolerance, country of manufacture. Where a tool has a limit, the limit is in the specification table. The GodHand nipper is finished by one cut through wire. Better you read that on the page than discover it at the bench.

We hold MSRP
No discounting games, and no permanent fake sale pricing. Several of these makers set a minimum advertised price, and we hold to it. You pay a fair, steady price, and the tools keep their value.

Availability means what it says
Stock in the building says In stock and ships now. Everything else says Available to order and carries a date. A hand-stitched Auriou rasp is quoted at six to eight weeks, because that is how long it takes to cut the teeth by hand. We quote the eight and hit it.

Genuine, and authorized where it counts
Every tool we sell is the real thing. Brands we are an authorized dealer for are marked Authorized on the brands page. We do not claim an authorization we have not been granted, so the label always means what it says.
