Megadora 980 Cushion-Grip JIS Screwdriver, +2 × 100 mm

The Megadora 980 is the driver VESSEL are best known for, and the one most people mean when they say they want "a proper JIS screwdriver". The tip is ground to the JIS B 4633 cross-head profile, which is flatter at the flank than a Phillips and has no cam-out ramp designed into it. In a Japanese fastener it seats to the bottom of the recess and stays there under load.

The grip is a two-durometer moulding. A hard inner core carrying the torque, a softer outer skin taking the pressure off the palm. The blade runs into the handle rather than stopping at it, so the tool tolerates being driven with a mallet on a seized fastener without splitting the handle.

If you work on Japanese machinery, cameras, motorcycles or consumer electronics, this profile is the difference between backing a screw out and destroying its head.

What is covered

Covered against defects in material and manufacture for the working life of the tool. Wear to the tip from normal use, and damage caused by striking a driver not rated for it, are not covered.

Limitations

Warranty covers defects in material and manufacture only. It does not cover normal wear, consumable items, corrosion, or damage caused by using a tool outside its stated capacity or for a purpose it is not designed for. Where a product page states a specific exclusion, that exclusion applies.

Making a claim

Dispatch

In-stock items are dispatched within 1–2 business days of order. Orders placed before 14:00 ET on a business day are picked the same day.

Carriers

We ship with Canada Post, UPS, Purolator. Delivery is free on orders over $149.00; below that a flat rate of $14.95 applies. Tracking is emailed when the label is created.

Returns

Unused items in original packaging may be returned within 30 days. Sharpening stones that have been wetted, abrasives that have been opened, and saw blades removed from their sleeve cannot be returned for hygiene and condition reasons unless faulty.
