If you are buying one stone, this is the one. #1000 on one face takes a dull edge back to sharp; #6000 on the other polishes it to the point where it will pare end grain cleanly.
It is a soaking stone. Five to ten minutes in water before use, and it should not be left permanently submerged or stored wet in a freezing shop. The bond is soft, which is why it cuts fast and forgives poor technique, and also why it dishes and needs flattening regularly.
Japanese grit numbers are not the same scale as US ones. A Japanese #1000 sits around a US 400–600.

What is covered
Covered against manufacturing defect. Stones are consumable; wear, dishing and cracking from freezing or dropping are not covered.
Limitations
Warranty covers defects in material and manufacture only. It does not cover normal wear, consumable items, corrosion, or damage caused by using a tool outside its stated capacity or for a purpose it is not designed for. Where a product page states a specific exclusion, that exclusion applies.
Making a claim
Contact us at support@exelprod.com or +1 (202) 899-9143 with your order number and a photograph of the fault. We handle the claim with the manufacturer on your behalf; you do not deal with them directly.

Carriers
We ship with Canada Post, UPS, Purolator. Delivery is free on orders over $149.00; below that a flat rate of $14.95 applies. Tracking is emailed when the label is created.
Returns
Unused items in original packaging may be returned within 30 days. Sharpening stones that have been wetted, abrasives that have been opened, and saw blades removed from their sleeve cannot be returned for hygiene and condition reasons unless faulty.
